Phitak Island : Chumporn
Phithak Island ( Koh Phi thak )
It is a small island, 25 kilometers from Lang Suan District Office, and 1 kilometer from the coast. It takes around 10 minutes from the coast to the island. The villagers on the island have 40 families , They are a fisheries and coconut gardener .You can learn their life style. From April to September of every year, the water level recedes to the point that people can walk on the sandy path to KohPhithak. Around the island, there are coastal rocks in different shapes. The seawater is clear. It is safe enough for swimming. Fishing villages are found around the island. A small beach is located on the eastern side about 450 long. It’s wonderful locate to relax.
On the north of the island is a scenic point hight up to 200 m where the wonderful scene around the island can be observed. It has a pavilion to sit down and relax your mind with the nature ,which you can see it far to Koh Toa, KohSamui, and KohPayan. If you are aecotourism, don’t miss to go to Department of Giant clams resources, and see Giant clams with many kind of shore reef.In the last time, on the KonPhithak has small community in 40 families but no school and no temple .In this time, They are building the attitude of subduing Mara ( Buddha Pang man wichai). Phithak peoples have an easy and sufficiency life style like they are one family. Their village head : “AumphonThanekrut or Pooyairang” is a builder of the ecological home-stay style under the philosophy of sustainable development which maintains the simple peaceful living on the island.Kohphithak is a famous by him.
KohPhithak is enjoying with “No alcohol Project” since 2011, which is not have alcohol to sale in any store on Buddha date. It’s party curfew 9:00 pm. No peoples on the Island and the tourist drink alcohol without their house incloud the island also.No tourist bring any alcohol to the island also. They are very sticking in that rule by their sign.
Koh Phi Thak is interesting island to visit .It is a beautiful,charm and quiet atmosphere.On the Phithak Island has a bricks road around the island,that is make a you comfortable to walking around. It’s many activities for a tourist such as, learn of fisheries life style, fresh sea food to eat, driving bicycle, fairway, snorkeling and driving a in shallow sea.

A Boardinghouses have one floor and make from a woods on a seaside, They have a wide terraces over on a sea.Tourists are like to take a rest on a terrace better than inside the room, because It’s a cold windy all day. In Normally, They built a toilets on a land for keep a beautiful beach.

On the island has many kind of foods to service such as a local foods and sea foods, If you need some special foods, Please request it to a restaurant in advances.
The rules.
For tourists , Don’t bring any alcolhol to the island. The island is a clean place from alcohol. Once important thing ,You have to inform an office for 1 week in advance about a number of people and number of a day to check in the boardinghouse.

Koh Phi Thak has a brick roads around the island to make it easy for walking and watching a islanders lifestyle.The island has many activity such as a fishing and driving.
