Koh Mook Island

KohMook( Mook Island ), KanTrang district , Trang province.   

                            KohMook is a large island comparing with nearby islands but little smaller than KohLibong. It is well known as the owner of Morakot Cave. KohMuk is virtually more interesting for its beautiful beaches of fertile natural surroundings. It is the island of ancient communities mostly Muslim. Villagers normally use long-tailed boats to travel between the island and Kuan Tung Ku Pier taking only about 15 minutes. The island's feature is of high cliffs and rocks facing the open sea at the western coast. The island's eastern coast is the plain with the cape heading towards the main land where Ban KohMuk is Located in between the sea. One side is Hua Laem Beach and Sapanyao Pier while the other side is Phangka Bay. Swimming can be done along the shoreline, the area of fertile seaweed which is the delicious food for the dugong (sea cow).

                         KohMook's population is mostly Muslim people, so they have a very stress rules, a tourist should follow in this below; 

1.You have to wearing a suitable dress or cloths on the island. 

2. Don’t bring any narcotics into the island.If you miss this rule, the committees of community are correcting and keep it from you.

                        KohMook’s islander lifestyle  occupationare fisheries and do tourism business; They are taking care of a tourists to travel around the island, fining a homestay to live.On the island  has a Muslim market in the morning , it’s many kind of food such as local food , Kao Mok Kai , Kao Yum, Coffees, Pa Thong  Ko, and Co Co, etc. They are very delicious.

                        After you finished with your meal, next time is for taking TukTuk to see around the island, see a fisheries (horse crabs, squids, fishes, and shrimp) .Hosewifes of KohMook are produce curry, It’s very delicious. After that should walking around the island for seeking a nice location to taking a photo then go to see and learn about tsunami , How to protecting area from tsunami?.

                        In the evening  aTukTuk will go back to homestays, and the way is pass para rubber factory . You can also stop there and their products. If you are tire and would like to get some good feel, Please try a cold coconut waters. It’s make you feel better. A secret produces a coconut water is from “ BangSukayadumyum” he is a builder of  kohMook homestay .

                         Mostly are package tours including the journey to Morakot Cave, dive at KohChuak, Koh Ma and KohWaen. All facilities which are buoy, rope and flashlight will be provided by the tour operators. You can also rent the boat from KohMook to Morakot Cave. There are three or four resorts at KohMook as well as restaurants, shops and motorcycles for renting. We have a package tours for 3 day and 2 nights, or 2 day  and 1night.

Getting to KohMook.

            From Bang kok take a bus (Sai Tai- Bang Kok ) at Sai Tai terminal will take 9 hr to Trang Province .Service price is about 600 Baths/Person. From Trang province terminal have a TukTuk service to around a city and take a Had Yao van at Kown Tung Ku pier about 1 hr to homestay. Service price is about 100 Baths. 

            The service charge of homestay and packaging tours can change in suitable.
